Dr. Iain Bartholomew, Siccar Point Energy
Iain joined the board of the new start-up Siccar Point Energy in 2014. Prior to this Iain has held various senior positions within the oil and gas sector having worked for Shell, Oryx Energy, CASP, Hess, Pluspetrol, Venture Production and Centrica. Iain has been in the E&P industry for over 30 years and has been involved in the discovery and appraisal of over 3 billion boe in different basins of the world. He has a PhD in structural geology and an MBA.
Claus G. Bjerregaard, Maersk Oil
Claus graduated in 1997 with a Master of Science degree and shortly after joined Maersk Oil’s Graduate Programme. He then worked as a Drilling Engineer for a total of 6 years in Denmark and Qatar, before moving into Petroleum Engineering, working on multiple mature fields in the Danish sector and becoming a team lead in 2006. In 2009 Claus transferred to UK and initially lead the Reservoir Management team before joining the Culzean HPHT project in 2011 where he became Subsurface Manager with the main responsibility of delivering the Field Development Plan.
Jamie Collins, BP
Jamie graduated from UCD in 2002 and completed his MSc at Manchester University. Early roles at Senergy and Dana Petroleum in Aberdeen covered a range of projects from; West African deepwater and onshore Egypt exploration, North Sea field appraisal and development, and extensive geo-cellular modelling work. Since joining BP Jamie has worked on the WoS Schiehallion and Loyal fields. Historically dependant on 4D seismic data for reservoir characterisation, Jamie has looked to create greater integration of geological and seismic data, in preparations of an extensive drilling programme as part of the major Quad204 redevelopment.
Erin Moffat, Wood Mackenzie
Erin Moffat joined Wood Mackenzie in 2006 and currently works as a senior analyst in the UK Upstream research team. In this role she is responsible for delivering regional research, focusing on the UK. In addition to this, Erin has also contributed to consulting projects including regional overviews, infrastructure studies and cost and peer group benchmarking. Erin holds a BA (Hons) in Geography and Environmental Planning from the University of Strathclyde.
Neil Platt, Hurricane Energy
Neil has more than 20 years’ experience in the oil industry and has worked for Amoco, BG and Petrofac. He has completed assignments both in the UK and internationally working in a variety of engineering, commercial and management roles including Production Asset Manager (NSW) for BG and Vice President for Project Delivery in Petrofac Production Solutions. Neil joined Hurricane in 2011 and was appointed to the Board on 8 March 2013. As Chief Operations Officer Neil is responsible for daily operations and asset delivery (drilling and projects).
Jeff Towart, Apache
Jeff Towart is the Region Exploitation Manager for Apache North Sea and prior to his move to Aberdeen, he was the Geophysical Manager for Apache Egypt in Cairo. Jeff graduated from Texas A&M University and has 30 years of experience working a wide variety of exploration and development projects. Jeff started his career with Ultramar as a seismic interpreter in the US Gulf Coast. He then transferred to London to work the Southern Gas Basin and went on to assignments in Indonesia and Venezuela with LASMO before moving to Egypt.
