About our Conference
The planning for the 5th annual DEVEX conference is well underway. Building on the success of the previous DEVEX conferences with year on year growth we believe that once again we will be able to deliver to you a first class event.
Over 330 delegates attended DEVEX 2007 from across the industry learning from 46 papers and the successful exhibition of over 20 companies. This year we will use the same 2 parallel session format for the 2 days but plan to increase the time available for you to soak up the information to be had from the more extensive exhibition.
The title this year is "From Prospect to Production" and covers nearly all aspects of our industry so please send in your abstracts. I am very pleased to announce that DEVEX 2008 will be opened on 14th May by keynote speaker Art Mulholland - Chairman of Oilexco.
At the heart of the governing Societies is the education of our members. We believe that DEVEX symbolizes our crusade to provide excellent value for money learning and offers us all a platform to put something back or to present new, younger, ideas. I appeal to each and every one of you to take the opportunity to learn from and to challenge your peers by taking part in the conference and promoting it within your company.
This year we plan to introduce a day of short training courses on the 13th May and there will also be an area set aside to display posters, as an alternative to making a presentation. The 2 days of conference will come to a close on the 16th May with the customary evening Field Trip option.
I am delighted as Chairman to work with my colleagues from across the industry on a committee that oozes experience with a touch of youthful enthusiasm. Key roles have been assigned to Donald Keir (AFES) to lead the Exhibition and Mike Cooper (PESGB) to lead the Sponsorship effort (see contacts page).
On behalf of the 3 Societies, the BERR (Dti) as a key sponsor and the Steering and Technical Committees, I look forward to your participation in DEVEX 2008 in whatever capacity you choose and I urge you to spread the word and help us to help you.
