Young Professionals' Event
(Kindly Supported by Maersk Oil)
The Young Professionals Event took place during the DEVEX conference 2014 on Wednesday 7th May from 11.50am-1.20pm.
Entitled ‘Teamwork – The Greatest Technical Challenge’, the session was chaired by the PESGB President Oonagh Werngren MBE. A panel of industry leaders provided their view and answered questions on how to achieve inspirational leadership and focussed management in order to deliver results more effectively.
Several delegates joined Aberdeen’s YPs as they explored the subject of group intelligence, management and leadership. It is taken for granted that the most successful organisations, companies and teams respond to great leaders, inspirational management styles and the possession of great emotional intelligence. The Young Professionals explored this topic to hopefully guide and influence the next generation of managers.
Thanks for those who came and joined Aberdeen’s Oil and Gas Young Professionals, as they explored the softskills required for effective leadership within our industry. The event asked experienced managers from industry what approaches they use to inspire success amongst their teams. Are you a team player? How would you as a team member inspire successful team communication?
Attendance was free of charge for DEVEX attendees. For those not registered for DEVEX costs were (including lunch):
- Members of SPE, PESGB or AFES: £20 + VAT
- Non-Members: £30 + VAT
